Who doesn’t love whale watching! What a perfect way to entertain the kids while also enjoying a great day out.

The Gold Coast has several whale watching tour options available – all of which guarantee you’ll see some of the beautiful creatures in their natural habitat.

The season runs from May to September which means now is the best time to get out there and enjoy the sights.

Kids of any age can go out and will absolutely love the experience.

The Gold Coast looks like it will be having quite a mild winter this year – the water is still warm enough to swim in and the days are short-sleeve shirt worthy.

If things do take a chilly turn however, there is still plenty to do around the Coast. We’ve listed a few of our favourite activities below:

• Take a drive to Mt Tamborine – there are plenty of shops to explore not to mention wineries, a brewery and lots of beautiful natural attractions.
• Head to a theme park – when you’re flying through the air on a roller coaster, it doesn’t really matter whether it’s cold or not. Visit Dreamworld, Seaworld or Movie World for a fun day out.
• Explore Pacific Fair – have you seen the five-star shopping centre lately? It’s absolutely beautiful with plenty of new stores, the largest cinema in the state lots to keep the kids entertained.

This weekend is ANZAC Day, a day on which we remember those soldiers who fought in World War 1 for our country.

On ANZAC Day we gather and pay our respects to those who gave their lives.
